Your trust is sacred to us. Sakinah is built on the principle that spiritual tools should not exploit their users. We collect the minimum data necessary for the app to function — nothing more.
📍 Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to deliver core functionality:
- Location — used locally on your device to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. We do not store or transmit your location to our servers.
- Device information — model and OS version for crash diagnostics and compatibility improvements only.
- Subscription status — processed securely through Google Play or the App Store. We receive only a transaction token, never your payment details.
🚫 What We Never Do
- Track your behavior across other apps or websites
- Sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
- Display advertisements of any kind
- Access your contacts, camera, or files without a specific user-initiated action
- Upload your Quran progress, prayer logs, or bookmarks without your explicit opt-in to cloud sync
💾 Local Data Storage
All Quran bookmarks, prayer history, reading progress, and personal settings are stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the app, this data is removed. Cloud sync is an opt-in feature only — disabled by default.
🔗 Third-Party Services
Sakinah uses the following services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Play / Apple App Store — app distribution and subscription management
- Firebase Crashlytics — anonymous crash reporting (no personal data included in reports)
👶 Children's Privacy
Sakinah is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.
🔄 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notice before taking effect. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
